Transferring/changing 2 layer to 4 layer (2 replies and 1 comment)
I,m still a bit of a beginner but I started a new project with a 4 layer board then copied and pasted what I had already designed. Hope this helps.
Thanks, Do you know what version you are using? I am unable to copy/paste from one layout to a different layout in another window. That would be great if I could!
Thanks for the response.
You can use copy and paste to make the change. You have to have only one instance of ExpressPCB running showing the board you want to copy. Then select the entire design. Hit "Ctrl C" on your keyboard then go to the "File" tab in the top left corner of the same instance of ExpressPCB and select "New" then "4 Layer". Then you can "Right click paste" or "Clrl V" to paste the original design back in. You will want to readjust the perimeter line around the board. Keep in mind if you have applied any keep outs for the solder mask it will not be transferred with copy and paste.
If I started a PCB layout in 2 layer, got pretty far with it and realized that I want to to this in 4 layer, is there a way to change? I cannot find anything other than redesigning the entire layout...
Thanks
