How to create filled ground plane with ExpresPCB Plus? (1 reply)
It is extremely easy to create a filled or poured ground plane in PCB Plus. in the Toolbar, look in the "Shape" tools section, under the Layer Selection dropdown. Here you can click on the "droplet" icon, and choose how your polygon will be filled - choose a "fill" if you want all holes and vias to connect to the filled region, or choose "pour" if you don't want all of them connected. Next, on the left hand toolbar, choose the shape, Rectangle, Polygon or Ellipse. Draw the shape on your pcb, and it will be filled.
If you chose "pour", then all holes and vias will be left unconnected to the filled area, but you can manually select any holes or vias you want to connect, right click your mouse, and select "Pad Connections..." you will get a little popup menu that is pretty straightforward.
I've looked around but I don't see an explanation of how to create a filled ground plane with ExpressPCB Plus.
I see tutorials on youtube for the regular ExpressPCB, but not the Plus.
Can anyone explain how to do this?
