ExpressPCB Minus (2 replies and 1 comment)
Yes, plus appears to be a step backwards. I'm back to classic now!
I agree, Plus is really a big Minus. Very clunky to use, especially without panning. And, I can't see any way to import all my old saved component library parts. I'm just going to stick with Classic.
They had the right idea with fixing a bunch of annoyances, like being able to copy/paste between windows, proper undo/redo, grouping/editing of parts, constrain X/Y with shift, but with a bunch of little things missing, it's really not useful yet. Maybe version 2.0 will get it right. And, no schematic linking??????
In addition to the obvious lack of schematic linking, there seems to be several important features of ExpressPCB Classic that are missing in Plus.
Can somebody tell me how to pan in Plus? I used to be able to hit my center mouse button (scroll wheel) to pan. This function now resets the view. Also, panning while dragging a trace is painfully slow.
In ExpressPCB Classic, you can zoom while laying a trace. This feature seems to have been eliminated in Plus.
The ability to hide the inner copper layers is missing from the Layer View.
Overall, navigation in Plus is tedious when compared to its legacy counterpart.
