Express PCB to Solidworks 3-D

Description
I have enjoyed using ExpressPCB every since it was started. I have to supply a 3-D model of some my boards for the projects I work on for documentation and illustration purposes. What I enjoy is the ability to model a board in Solidworks without having to go through the tedium of placing pads and holes manually. I use the DXF export function for each of the pads, holes and silkscreen layers (front and back) and import them onto a PCB model created in SW. Thanks for allowing this to be possible. It saves a lot of time on my part. – Gary

Do you do this with the DXF Export?

I also use the DXF export to bring it into Solidworks, and it’s great that you can specify the units of measurement during the export from ExpressPCB. I use it to create a 3D model of the board to use to check the fit and clearances of the board and components. The components can be extruded from the DXF outlines.

Never even thought to do this. I will most certainly try it!
